Donate to the Pearls with A Purpose Foundation! Your charitable gift to the Pearls with a Purpose Foundation will help provide vital and necessary shipments to families in need. Because the Pearls with a Purpose Foundation is a 501c3 organization, all donations are tax-exempt.
There are several ways that you can donate:
- Monetary donations (for supplies or shipping costs).
- Humanitarian supplies (food, clothing, and household items).
- Educational supplies (books, materials, and uniforms).
- Partner with the Foundation to sponsor a charitable drive or project.
The Foundation ships between 80-100 boxes of humanitarian supplies twice a year to help support 800-1000 destitute families in 9 different provinces throughout the Philippines. Under the direction of Wendy Bird, employees, distributors, and volunteers sort and package donated items in the United States. Every 6 months, the Foundation ships donated humanitarian supplies through Atlas Shippers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Boxes are shipped to 22 villages near 22 villages near 5 main cities: Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Kalibo. Once the boxes arrive in-country, 29 coordinators in the Philippines receive and distribute the supplies.
Monetary donations
We accept cash/check/charge donations via PayPal through the Foundation website, at any Utah Community Credit Union office (801-223-8188), or mailed directly to our office. To donate through our website, click “Donate” and then enter the monetary amount that you want to contribute. These donations are used to purchase humanitarian and educational supplies and ship them to needy families in Asia.
If you’d like to donate towards shipping costs, you can sponsor a box of humanitarian supplies. The Foundation has partnered with Atlas Shipping based in Las Vegas to ship the supplies at a deeply discounted rate. A 24″ × 22″ × 17″ box filled with 200 pounds of supplies costs approximately $70 to ship. Companies, families, and individuals are welcome to sponsor a box by paying the shipping costs. Humanitarian supplies
You can donate these types of new or gently used clothes or household items, and non-perishable foods:
- Clothing: New or gently used clothing for children and adults, especially church-appropriate and school uniforms. Children’s shoes, raincoats, jackets, and baby clothing and necessities are needed. *Please do not donate winter clothing.
- Food: Non-perishable, canned, or dried food only. Protein items such as canned meat, tuna, peanut butter, and beans, and food items with a high nutritional value (including vitamin and nutritional supplements) are preferred. *For shipping reasons, we cannot accept food stored in glass containers.
- Household items: Dishes, cooking utensils, sheets, blankets, towels and other simple necessities in working condition. Baby items (e.g., formula, bottles, pacifiers, rattles, diapers, baby food, baby cereal, etc.) are ALWAYS in great need.
Items can be dropped off or shipped to our office.
Educational supplies
Adequate education is the key to helping individuals become self-reliant. Although schools exist in these rural villages, they lack the educational tools necessary to effectively teach local children.
You can donate new or gently used educational supplies such as:
- Children’s books or text books in English for all levels of learning.
- Educational software or working computers.
- Coloring books, paper, pens, art supplies, chalk and chalk boards, pencils, erasers, or markers.
- Globes, maps, book bags, backpacks, or other school supplies.
- Uniforms (tan pants or navy blue skirts and white blouses or shirts) and sturdy shoes for boys and girls.
Items can be dropped off or shipped to our office.
Partner with the Foundation to sponsor a drive
The Pearls with a Purpose Foundation partners with local area groups and individuals who want to arrange or sponsor a drive for food or supplies. These groups include Eagle Scout projects, families, youth groups, community organizations, corporate entities, and other groups.
